检重秤的工况,决定了答案
检重秤用在食品、医药、日化生产线,工况有一个共同特点:频繁清洗。
- 食品厂:每天下班高压水枪冲洗传送带和设备
- 制药厂:酒精、消毒液反复擦拭
- 日化厂:原料溅落、水汽弥漫
检重秤的传感器装在传送带正下方,是清洗的"重灾区"。水、消毒液、清洁剂直接溅上去,甚至泡在水里。
这种工况下,合金钢传感器撑不过一年。
合金钢为什么扛不住?
合金钢本身不具备耐腐蚀能力,靠的是表面的镀层(镀镍、镀锌或喷漆)。问题在于:
- 镀层在安装、使用中很容易划伤
- 一旦划伤,水汽从伤口渗入,内部开始氧化
- 表面先出锈斑,然后锈蚀深入,导致传感器形变、精度漂移
- 最终信号失真、甚至报废

不锈钢表面有一层致密的氧化铬膜,即使被划伤,也能在空气中自我修复。这就是它耐腐蚀的根本原因。

防护等级同样关键:要 IP68,不要 IP65
除了材质,防护等级也是检重秤传感器的关键指标。
- IP65 只能防喷水,泡不了水

The working conditions of checkweighers determine the answer
Checkweighers are used on food, pharmaceutical and daily-chemical production lines, where the working conditions share one common feature: frequent cleaning.
- Food plants: high-pressure water guns rinse conveyors and equipment every day after work
- Pharmaceutical plants: alcohol and disinfectant are repeatedly wiped on
- Daily-chemical plants: raw materials splash and water vapor fills the air
The load cell of a checkweigher is installed directly below the conveyor belt — the "worst-hit zone" for cleaning. Water, disinfectant and detergent splash directly onto it, or even soak it.
Under such conditions, an alloy steel load cell will not last a year.
Why can't alloy steel hold up?
Alloy steel itself has no corrosion resistance and relies on surface plating (nickel, zinc or paint). The problems are:
- The plating is easily scratched during installation and use
- Once scratched, moisture seeps in through the wound and internal oxidation begins
- Rust spots appear on the surface first, then corrosion deepens, causing deformation and accuracy drift
- Eventually the signal distorts, or the load cell fails completely
Many equipment makers have experienced this: after 8 ~ 10 months of use, the customer reports "the checkweigher is inaccurate". When opened up, the load cell is rusted beyond recognition.
Stainless steel costs a few dozen yuan more, but saves far more
Stainless steel has a dense chromium oxide film on its surface that self-heals even when scratched. This is the fundamental reason for its corrosion resistance.
The math of using a stainless steel load cell:

Protection rating is equally critical: IP68, not IP65
Besides material, protection rating is also a key indicator for checkweigher load cells.
- IP65 only resists water jets, cannot be immersed
- IP68 can work submerged for long periods
Checkweigher load cells being washed by water or even soaked in standing water is the norm, so IP68 is a must. Also note — some brands make IP68 a paid option, with the base version only IP65/67. Always ask clearly when sourcing.
